The evolution of a child's gut microbiota is linked with the evolution of his or her diet in the first year of life, from breastfeeding to weaning and the gradual introduction of other foods.
The formation of the gut microbiota influences the development of the immune system.
It is therefore important to ensure the right balance of gut microbiota in babies and children by means of specific supplements of lactic cultures that reflect the existing microbiota in terms of affinity and composition.
Supplements of lactic cultures are especially recommended for children fed with artificial milk, because they do not receive bacterial flora from their mothers through breastfeeding.
The strains of culture used in AxiDophiilus Junior meet the requirements for probiotic products established by the World Health Organisation (WHO/FAO) in October 2001.
